I Know You Want to Hear About My Chick Date

So.....on Friday evening I called the girl who gave me her digits. We decided to go to the outlet mall on Saturday for our "chick date". I was a little nervous. I had a little bit of a tough time deciding what to wear (mostly because the weather had gotten a little cooler). I couldn't decide long sleeves/short sleeves, jeans/shorts/capri's, dressier shirt/t-shirt? I wanted to make a good impression and not let the crazy show.

We had a nice afternoon chatting and getting to know each other under the guise of shopping. I wouldn't say we're BFF's or anything, but I think she would be cool to hang with. It will be nice to have another person in this area to hang out with. Most of my friends live either a town or two over, or 2 hours away. She said she'd call me sometime soon to go out for drinks or something. We'll just have to see.

Otherwise, I'm trying to enjoy the last day of my vacation. I go back to work tomorrow and I can't say as I'm terribly excited about it. But I did miss work. A little. I guess I do like my job somewhat.

You are so funny getting ready for your chick date. Glad you two clicked. It was a good place to go on a first Chick date. I know what you mean about going back to work after vacation.

I was wondering how the "date" went. It is so hard to meet and make friends when you are an adult. I'm not sure why that is but I know that most of my closest friends are the ones I made in elementary/middle school with a few exceptions. Hope you guys can get together again!

Hey girl. I haven't checked your blog lately. I am so glad that you went on your chick date. I know how you feel. I have been bouncing around quite a bit over the last decade or so. I make work friends but they don't really survive the move. I have a handful of friends from college that I still keep in touch with but they live far away. My BFFs now are really my family and my best friend from high school. It gets a little lonely some times. I am glad that you are making new friends. Just think about how you will laugh about your first "date" years from now. I am glad to see that you are reading Janet's book. We have had it for what? almost a month? and I still haven't read it. Shame on me. I did pick up the entire series that you rec. (Outlander? I am having a brain fart). A borders express located about a half hour away was going out of business and I picked up the entire set for 50% off. You are right. Those are some thick books. Well, I just wanted to take some time to say "hi" and that I am glad that everything is going well. Give you mom a hug for me.
