Random Crap

Yippee another random post!
  • For some reason I am craving oranges. I eat one a day.
  • I don't know how, but I've accumulated 4 more books to add to my list of things to read before Ninja Baby comes.
  • I do plan on telling you all his name...just not till he's here.
  • I had a really odd dream the other night that I was breast feeding my cats. It kinda freaked me out.
  • The baby's room is finally painted and this weekend we're putting up the border. I'll post pics soon.
  • N.B. and I went to the movies to see The Backup Plan. He did not like it. I can't tell if it's because it was loud, or he doesn't like J.Lo. Either way he kicked me the whole time.
  • While standing in the ER the other day, I sneezed and peed my pants. I was mortified.
  • Yesterday I was at Kohl's and saw the most annoying mom on the planet. In a weird, loud, sugary voice she repeated everything she said 3 times. Do you have to go poopy? Did you loose your cuppy? What do you see? X3 I wanted to smack her.
  • I had a head cold a few weeks ago and couldn't take anything for it so I bought a Nehti pot. I creeped Spiderman out one night when I called him frantically to the bathroom to see the long string of snot dripping from my nose all the way down into the sink. It was cool.
  • He did not think it was cool.
  • He sent me this video soon after.

A Room for Baby

This weekend I was very busy. I don't know if it's because of "nesting" or because my house was just really dirty, but I spent a large portion of the time cleaning.

I scrubbed my kitchen and bathrooms, dusted and vacuumed the whole house, and did 4-5 loads of laundry. I also started working on what will soon be Ninja Baby's room.

The previous owners of my house had little boys. The room was decorated very cute with green and blue and an airplane border. When we first moved in 3 years ago we had just started trying. I thought "perfect, if we have a boy the room is done". And then we couldn't get pregnant. The longer it took the harder it became for me to see the "baby's" room. Eventually we used it as a storage space and shut the door.

Now that we're having a little guy, I feel the need to start fresh. On Saturday the airplane border came down. I Spackled the walls, and it's ready for a primer. I ordered the crib set and it should be here by the end of the week. From there, I can pick a wall color. Once the room is painted, my mother can buy the crib. She's been itching to for a while now and I can't say that I blame her.

I'll post some before/after pictures when I get a chance....

Snips and Snails and Puppy Dog Tails

Lately the peanut has been moving around SO much. He kicks me all the time. Spiderman says it's because he's starting his Ninja training. This past weekend Spiderman and I went to register for Ninja Baby's shower.

I thought it would be fun. I can't believe how wrong I was. It was completely overwhelming to realize how much crap something so little can need. And I realized that I had NO idea what we'd need. We spent an hour and a half looking baby stuff. Strollers, high chairs, diaper bags. We argued most of the time because Spiderman wanted to scan most of the store. He even scanned every single Baby Einstein video ever made because he wants Ninja Baby to be smart. Yeah. I know.

After I couldn't take any more of it, we went to lunch. The section we sat down in had several children in it. There was a little girl about three sitting in her booster chair quietly eating her fries and chicken strips. Then there were the little boys. Two brothers were running up and down the aisle fighting and shouting and one of them even shoved me as I was coming back from the bathroom. Another little boy spent the entire time either laying on the floor or across his mother's lap screaming like a siren. There was another set of brothers closest to us, one in a high chair and the other about 7 yrs old. The older brother spent the entire time poking, and bothering his little brother causing him to giggle and screech.

I looked from the little girl to the rowdy boys. That was when I realized that not only were we seated in the bad little boy section, but that I was going to be having one.

A rowdy boy.

Oh. My. God.

What am I going to do? Is it inevitable? Am I deluding myself in thinking that he will ever sit and play with his cars quietly? Maybe I'm just freaking out, but this thought terrifies me.

All you mothers of little boys out there, help me out. Tell me I can handle it.

Please.

Coming Down From My Sugar High

Sorry I haven't posted this week, but I spent most of the Easter Weekend in a marshmallow Peep induced coma. The rest of the week has been spent trying to catch up on my addiction. I feel the need to read as many of the books I have laying around the house as I can before the baby comes. While I still have the time and energy to read.

Currently on my list?

  • Twenties Girl by Sophie Kinsella
  • Dead As A Doornail by Charlaine Harris
  • An Echo In The Bone by Diana Gabaldon (this one'll take me a while it's 800 pages)
  • Mr Darcy's Daughters by Elizabeth Aston (I got this one for $2)
  • Don't Look Down by Jennifer Crusie
  • The Night Gardener by George Pelecanos (I won this one online)

Has anyone read any of these books? If so what did you think? Any fabulous reads to add to my list?

April is Here!

I had this post planned about how I feel like my body is completely not my own and out of control, but I woke up and it's 70 degrees and sunny out.

In NWI that's a big deal. So instead, I'm opening my windows, putting on my new maternity capris and heading to the outdoor outlet mall.

Sorry, but it can't be helped.
