The Lost Von Trapp Sister

All this rain is making me have a MONSTER migraine. I love how it's making everything green and HATE what it's doing to my head. Needless to say I don't feel like a real post here. I promise to have one tomorrow with my thoughts on all things "Swine" related. Until then enjoy this video recommended to me by a coworker.

Does this make anyone else want to put on Leiderhosen and dance around like the lost Von Trapp child?
No? Umm.......Me neither.....cuz that would be crazy, right?

Peeps, The Wonder Drug

With all the weather changing and hormonal changing, I have been struggling today with a migraine.
Don't worry, I took two of these and I feel better.

I truly believe in the medicinal power of Marshmallow Peeps. They're one of my favorite things about Easter. Heck, my favorite thing about Spring even! I prefer the yellow ones to any other color (maybe that makes me a Peep purist) and I prefer the bunnies to the chicks so I can eat the ears off first. I know that there are people out there (my mother) who like their Peeps stale and hard. I think that's just wrong. I love 'em nice and soft and fresh. I"m actually a little sad they're all gone now. I'll just have to buy some more.....

Speaking of medicine, I'm posting this video shown to me via Spiderman. He knows how much I hate that drugs are advertised on television. It's one of my pet peeves. I mean, why wait for your Dr. (with all their medical knowledge ) to TELL you that you need a certain medicine when you can see something on TV and DEMAND it from them?

Anyway.......here's the video. I know a few people who need this drug.

The Good, The Bad, and The Ugly

The Good: Spiderman went to the grocery store today on his lunch hour so that I wouldn't have to.

The Bad: 3 week old baby Dead On Arrival.

The Ugly: I feel a monster migraine coming on.

I Got Nothin'

I got nothing for you guys today but the beginnings of another migraine.
And agitation that comes from monster headaches.
I will try to remain positive:
1. I got some spiffy new scrubs today. I LOVE getting new scrubs!
2. This weekend I'm not only going to the NWI Bloggy Meet (can't wait) but also my girlfriend Gina is coming to town and bringing her newest little guy (guess this means that I REALLY have to finish that baby blanket I'm working on.)

Sorry, that's all I've got. If you want to read an interesting/funny/gross post go here to my mother's blog.

Headache Relief in a handy Bottle!

I woke up this morning with a sore throat, stuffed up head, and runny nose. I was NOT a happy camper, but as the day wore on I decided to roll with it. I am totally using it as an excuse to sit on the couch and watch Pillow Talk, The Lake House and Charmed reruns.
And for all you fellow migraine sufferers I wanted to share a new product with you. It doesn't prevent them, or get rid of them entirely, but it does provide some relief. It's the Bath and Body Works Aromatherapy Headache Relief.

It contains Peppermint and Geranium oil and you just roll it on where it hurts. I usually roll it on my temples and the back of my neck and soon the headache seems to lessen. I should buy stock in this!

Rainy Day

I am in a foul temper today. I woke up with a migraine which is no surprise considering the rain and the horrendous night I had at work last night. (I don't want to get into it, but I can really understand now why some employees go to work and shoot people. If I were already imbalanced....there'd have been trouble)
The weather also seems to be reflecting my mood.

Normally, I love rainy days. I can put on sweat pants, drink tea, and curl up with a good book. Today, however, the foul mood. I just put the makings of a beef stew in my crockpot. Today is definitely a comfort food day. Later I'll make some crusty french bread and we'll be all set.

As for the headache....I truly believe in the medicinal effect of pinwheel cookies.

I feel better already.

Pay it Forward

I woke up with a killer migraine for the second morning in a row ( thank you fabulous weather), so this will be brief. I was reading the blog Pancakes and Frenchfries the other day, and she is doing a Pay it Forward giveaway with her blog. I really liked the idea and started to think of ways I could pay it forward. My blog is so new, i don't think enough people are reading (sorry mom) to use it. Instead I want to do it in real life. I'm going to sign up for the Avon Breast Cancer walk in Chicago. ( I was already thinking about it...but this will give me more incentive) I figure this will be Paying it Forward on a larger scale. You can follow me as I start training (exercise, augh!) and I'll try to post the actual event.
