A Room for Baby

This weekend I was very busy. I don't know if it's because of "nesting" or because my house was just really dirty, but I spent a large portion of the time cleaning.

I scrubbed my kitchen and bathrooms, dusted and vacuumed the whole house, and did 4-5 loads of laundry. I also started working on what will soon be Ninja Baby's room.

The previous owners of my house had little boys. The room was decorated very cute with green and blue and an airplane border. When we first moved in 3 years ago we had just started trying. I thought "perfect, if we have a boy the room is done". And then we couldn't get pregnant. The longer it took the harder it became for me to see the "baby's" room. Eventually we used it as a storage space and shut the door.

Now that we're having a little guy, I feel the need to start fresh. On Saturday the airplane border came down. I Spackled the walls, and it's ready for a primer. I ordered the crib set and it should be here by the end of the week. From there, I can pick a wall color. Once the room is painted, my mother can buy the crib. She's been itching to for a while now and I can't say that I blame her.

I'll post some before/after pictures when I get a chance....

I keep questioning the whole nesting thing, myself. Is it nesting just because I noticed that our home needs dusting? Or is like every other time I happen to notice we need dusting? LOL

I'm in the process of getting our nursery together, too, and am really enjoying it. It's fun, makes it all seem real, and is really giving me something to look forward to - looking at all the stuff and thinking, "Wow, he's really going to use this stuff soon."

I got my grandchildren's first crib too. It's a special thing with us grandma's. I can't wait to see the finished product.

I remember those days when I was in your place so clearly. It really does pass in the blink of an eye. I really wish I'd taken more pictures and definitely more video.
